What You Need to Know About Blonde Hair

Within the melting pot of genes due to earth migration as well as the evolution of mankind, the natural blonde is inevitably a dying breed and will probably be replaced by darker-haired, darker-skinned races.

But thanks to chemistry rather than parentage the blonde goddess will never leave the catwalk, cinema screen, celebrity magazines or indeed your very own hair identity.

As far back as Roman times blonde hair has been the subject of fascination. Historically, natural blonde hair is associated with Nordic heritage. From Roman to Venetian and Renaissance art, and in more recent times, the golden vamps of Hollywood and bottle-blonde rock stars, blondes have ruled the colour charts, symbolizing effervescence and youthfulness. Marilyn Monroe would not be the same without her blonde ‘do’ and now she lives on eternally as the patron saint of peroxide.

Women have always been dissatisfied with hair colour and history shows us time and time again how people have experimented with hair lightening and facial hair removal for women, from the ancient Egyptians to the Greeks, Hebrews, Persians and Chinese.

Golden hair tumbles through just about every fairytale and bedtime story, from Rapunzel to Alice in Wonderland to Cinderella. It is no wonder we are all fascinated by blondes.

Blonde has a language all of its own and can be powerful, cool, brash, innocent, fragile, dizzy, raunchy and glamorous. The female stars of Hitchcock and Bond movies are littered with blondes, and the worlds of music, art and fashion are inhabited by any number of blondes, from sex kittens to fashion queens, power blondes, back hair removal for men and blonde icons. Blonde ambition is it!

The blonde may well be the subject of a million dumb blonde jokes, and style commentators may think blonde cheap but any blonde backlash is only ever temporary. In surveys 59% of women said they’d prefer to be blonde and those that kick the habit keep going back. Those that try a few strands always cry for more – it’s like a drug! Blondes comes in all sizes, the sophisticated blonde, the glamorous blonde, the Ibiza sun-kissed blonde, the power blonde, trailer trash blonde or Swedish porn star blonde – there is a blonde for everyone! Christmas Party Dress and How to Find it

Christmas is approaching and time is getting short. There are so many things to think about, presents to buy, food to prepare, parties to attend but have you looked in your wardrobe and found that you have nothing to wear?

There are a lot of party dresses out there in every colour and shape and length you can imagine and with only a week to go, how are you going to find time to try them all on?

Here are a few tips to steer you in the right direction. By following a few simple rules you can narrow down the style, colour and length of the dress you are looking for, by eliminating the ones that won’t suit you, thus saving a great deal of time.

Firstly consider your height and the shape of your legs. Never have a hemline that finishes at the widest part of you leg, it will only make your calves look bigger. If you are small in height a very full dress will overpower you and nobody will notice YOU.

Secondly consider your colouring. Black really only suits “deep” , “clear” or “cool” women so if you are “light”, “warm” or “soft” you would be much better in other colours. A pale blue or pink will suit a “light”, gold or warm red will suit a “warm” and a soft burgundy or teal will suit a “soft”.

Thirdly consider your body shape. If you have a lovely curvy hourglass figure choose a soft fabric such as silk or chiffon for your dress. If you have a straight or athletic body, choose a fabric which is a stiffer, such as taffeta or linen mix. If you are a classic triangle, you may find buying a dress a challenge. You may be better with a skirt and jacket in the same fabric so they have the appearance of a dress but you can buy a different size for the top and bottom half of your body. If you have a round body, so you carry your weight around your body, you too may be better in separates. A fitted skirt to show of your neat hips and bottom, teamed with a soft flowing top or jacket.

You should now be fully equiped for a straight forward and stress free shopping expedition. If you stick to the rules you will find that perfect dress in no time at all and when you wear it you will feel like the Belle of the Ball.

10 Great Skin Care Tips for Great Skin

Skin care is a tricky area. Some basic care is necessary for good hygiene and basic health. More advanced skin care falls into beauty treatment. And no matter how much money is spent on skin care, there always seem to be even more expensive treatments and products out there. Review these 10 tips to pick up some basic, effective skin care knowledge.

  1. The secret to great skin is great skin care. This means that not only should your skin be cleaned and moisturized correctly for your skin type, you should also protect your skin with sun screen. This prevents serious damage and aging that the sun can cause over time. A good sun screen or make up with SPF in it can be very beneficial.
  2. Skin care is important for everyone, from the very young to the very old. One tip to help keep your skin continue to look its best is to use sunscreen each and every day. The sunscreen will protect your skin from premature aging, and of course, it also protects against skin cancer. Sunscreen is an economical, accessible, easy way to take care of your skin.
  3. To help your skin look its best, consider adding fruits and vegetables to your diet. These foods contain protective properties that help the skin maintain its healthy appearance. Leafy greens, cantaloupe, oranges and blueberries, are all excellent choices to incorporate into your meals. Not only will they improve your skin, but they have other health benefits as well.
  4. Prolonged use of oral steroids may cause capillaries under the skin’s surface to dilate, which leads to noticeable redness and flushing. Care for your skin during therapy, by adding oatmeal to a warm bath and applying nourishing lotions and creams to your skin that contain chamomile, vitamin K or extract of licorice or lavender.
  5. You should apply a moisturizer to the skin after washing and toning. Moisturizers are lotions that lessen wrinkles, soften skin, and reduce dryness. Different skin types require different moisturizers. A person with oily skin should use a gel based moisturizer. A person with drier skin should use a cream or lotion based moisturizer.
  6. If you are going to get expert advice about skin care, talk directly to a dermatologist. Research shows that primary physicians are much less likely to detect abnormal skin conditions than the experts in the field of dermatology. It may cost a little extra, but if you are concerned, it will be money well spent in the end.
  7. At every stage of life, use some kind of moisturizer. Young people with acne can use aloe vera gel or juice as a natural, oil free moisturizer. Older people who are experiencing skin dryness can switch to a richer form of moisturizer or simply add a drop or two of organic oil (sunflower, tea tree, etc.) to the aloe gel for light, natural moisturizing.
  8. Red nose, red eyes, splotchy face: it must be cold season again! Keep your colleagues from noticing that your sinuses are suffering by using a concealer with a yellow base on problem areas. This will counteract any redness you may have. Bonus tip: draw white highlighter just under your bottom lash line and at the corner of your eyes to make them seem brighter.
  9. If you are trying to shrink your pores, try using a mask. You can make one at home by using egg whites. You don’t need any other ingredients and this can work with just one use. Egg whites tighten your skin, shrink your pores and reduce the appearance of wrinkles.
  10. Washing your hands with or without soap can dry them out. Keep your hands moisturized at all times by applying hand cream every time your hand touches water. It will keep your hands noticeably nice and smooth. Buy a small travel size hand cream and keep it with you when you go shopping and you have to use public restrooms.

You get as much out of skin care as you put into it. That applies not just to money – it applies less to money than any other factor, maybe – but to time and research. There are plenty more tips and tricks like these out there, just waiting for you to learn.

How to Choose Wedding Shoes

Wedding shoes are not typically at the top of a bride’s shopping list. This is mainly because they are among the least noticed wedding accessories during the wedding, but they really can be one of the most important parts of your bridal attire. From a comfort standpoint they’re certainly an important detail that should not be overlooked.

Wedding shoes are almost as important as your wedding dress. They are also a very good example of a product that is increasing in terms of internet sales.

A couple of things to consider when picking out wedding shoes are heel height and of course comfort.

Generally wedding shoes are seen as such a minor part of the entire wedding event that brides should feel no pressure at all when it comes to their shoes. However, wedding shoes are still incredibly important because they’ll add height if you want heels and they must be comfortable enough to spend several hours in.

As a bride if you feel you’ve got enough to agonize about without trying to find shoes that match your dress exactly, clear wedding shoes may be an excellent solution for you. Many clear wedding shoes are decorated with dainty rhinestone detailing, with nearly invisible vinyl bands across the top of your foot for structure and support. Clear wedding shoes are made out of vinyl and transparent thermoplastic acrylic resin.

Some choose to have their wedding shoes properly dyed to match your dress, making them a beautiful accessory on your very special day.

If your wedding shoes are higher-heeled than those you are used to, you may want more structured practice sessions. Another trick to keep in mind is to break in your wedding shoes to be sure that on the big day your wedding shoes aren’t killing your feet.

No matter how great your wedding shoes are, you’ll curse them on your wedding day if they make you miserable.
